stop - The Caribbean!
(This would be our second crossing of
the Atlantic Ocean and our first in this direction. As it
turned out we much preferred the "Eastbound" route because of
the very rolly sea conditions.)

- Sunrises and Sunsets were spectacular.
We were treated to an amazing meteor show on December 12-14.
There were so many meteors falling in colors and different
designs it was almost scary to watch! It even made the
news as we found a story about it online after we had
reached the Caribbean. We were also amazingly treated
to watch a juvenile Fin Whale jump several times into the
air just like an awkward Dolphin! To watch a very,
very, similar event happen just click

- A few days after we had passed our half-way point we
were passed like we were standing still (going 2 kts will do
that!) by an Israeli/South African Catamaran named
"Rebecca". They had been in this configuration for the
past 10 days and we realized we should have put a smaller
sail in our inventory to make the crossing easier.
"Big Boy" was just a little to much to handle at times.
This "handkerchief" had them going at 8-10 kts!

-
After many days (27 in all) of dodging
rain showers, unpredictable wind, and very little sea life
(only a few Dolphins and a lot of flying fish) we finally
saw Barbados in the distance! Yea! We DID IT!
