This trip was a great time to reconnect with old friends from Florida.   Great hosts Denise and Mike (who were from the area ) made sure their visit was a memorable one!

Olives growing on a tree.  The group got to tour an olive pressing plant which was very interesting.  One evening the village of Maritsa treated the group to a picnic at the local monastery at Sontiros.  It was an enchanting and special evening and all felt very privileged to have been a part of that event. The people from the town cooked the food and the caterer served to all.  He even danced for them (the picture at the top).

The group enjoyed a few meals at the village of Maritsa at their local restaurants. Lots of fun.  A few took a tour up to Filerimos hill (Dick, Kathy McKinlay, Jackie Jewell, Mark Davis, Marsha "Massa" Cavinder, Bob, Tania, Pat, Alan Canfield).  The entrance to the old harbour where the enormous statue of "Hercules" is said to have stood over the entrance.

   A bus took the group around the island for several sights.  The ancient (and first) Olympic stadium.  Bob and Tania in front of the ancient city of Lindos.
